I have a background in teaching children and adults including working with parents to help develop young children's confidence in language and the joy of sharing books together.

I grew up in Devon and returning there has coincided with focusing more on my writing.

I continue to research different historical periods for short stories and am working on a collection of poems.

I am delighted that my poem 'I want to tell you about the birds' came second in the inaugural Coastal Writing for Wellness Competition of the online poetry platform Writing at the Beach Hut, judged by Deborah Harvey. Writing at the Beach Hut is an inspiring blend of poetry, writing and beautiful photography inspired by nature and the coast. Perfect for those longing to see the sea!

My poem 'Wise Woman' appeared in issue 96 of Acumen, January 2020.

My poem 'Hope' was included in the 2018 Earth Pathways Diary. To look at sample pages and to order this beautiful and inspiring diary go to the Earth Pathways website www.earthpathwaysdiary.co.uk.

My story 'Being Beryl' was short-listed for the Crediton Short Story Competition 2017 www.credfest.co.uk.

My poem 'I want to enter silence' appeared in issue 85 of Acumen, May 2016 (see Poems).
